Review: Neal’s Yard Remedies Wild Rose Beauty Balm and Elixr

Now one thing you probably know about me, I love an at home spa sesh! Most friends that visit see me pottering around in a facemask / hair mask of some sort. Most family skype conversations involve me looking like something straight out of ‘Wicked’! My love for Neal’s Yard Remedies is helped by the fact that they genuinely do have some of the best products on the market for helping me get my spa on at home!

Today I am going to review a couple of their all-time hero products that leave me with skin that looks and feels like I have just had a spa facial!

Neal’s Yard Remedies Wild Rose Beauty Balm

What is it?

One of NYR’s most popular products, which has won a multitude of awards comes in its famous beautiful royal blue glass jar containing the balm as well as an unbleached, organic muslin cloth made from organically grown cotton, which is exceptionally soft and silky.

It is absolutely jam packed with natural ingredients including; Wild Rose, Jojoba, Beeswax, Shea Butter, Hemp, Starflower, Geranium, Rosemary, Frankincense, Palmarosa and Patchouli which is incredibly impressive. The Wild Rose Beauty Balm is made from 99% organic ingredients, and contains no mineral oils, parabens, silicones or synthetic colours or fragrances. This product is full of natural, organic ingredients giving your skin the very best it deserves.

What do you do with it?

What’s amazing about the Neal’s Yard Remedies Wild Rose Beauty Balm, is that it can be used in many different ways.

  1. Cleanser: Massage a small amount onto the face, and remove with the muslin cloth rinsed in warm water.
  2. Moisturiser: After cleansing and toning, apply a small amount to the face, giving a facial massage with an upward motion.
  3. Mask: After thoroughly cleansing and exfoliating, apply the balm over the face. Cover the face with a warm washcloth, and relax for 10 minutes. Remove any remaining traces of balm with the muslin cloth, and apply your usual moisturiser.
  4. Lip Balm: Apply a small amount to the lips to prevent dryness and chapping. Can be used over lipstick to add extra shine.
  5. Make-Up Primer: After cleansing and toning, apply a small amount to the cheekbones and other areas of the face prior to applying your foundation for a healthy glow.
  6. Nail Balm: Massage a small amount of the balm into the cuticles every night to encourage strong nail growth.
  7. Heel Softener: After washing and exfoliating the feet, massage some balm in to the heels.
  8. Flight Repair: During a flight, wear Wild Rose Beauty Balm as your moisturiser to lock in moisture and nourish the skin so you arrive with a fresh glowing complexion.
  9. Eyebrow Tamer: After shaping the eyebrows, apply a small amount of balm to smooth and control.
  10. Sunburn Relief: After sun exposure have a warm shower or bath then apply a little Wild Rose Beauty Balm to the sun exposed areas and the rosehip will help repair damage collagen. It also gives the skin aglow of radiance.

What do I think of it?

I love how weighty the jar feels, it just feels so luxurious and decadent. The initial waxy like texture of this balm soon changes to an oil when heated with your body temperature. This makes massaging it into your skin a dream. You can give a brilliant facial massage with this stuff, seriously!

My dehydrated yet oily skin fairs well with this balm, helping to rebalance the oil and give a boost of moisture that my skin desperately needs. I love how it is washed away leaving no residue, meaning it does not block pores or cause any congestion. My skin has been clear, smooth, plumped up and glowing since using this balm – and it’s pretty impressive that one little pot could do all this.

The beauty of this balm is that it can be used on ALL skin types too.

Is this worth the money?

Absolutely. YES. This has a firm place in my stash and I won’t ever be without one. I even have some decanted into a small pot for my handbag!!!

Pick one up from Neal’s Yard Remedies – you won’t be disappointed!

Wild Rose Beauty Elixir

What is it?

A luxurious treatment serum, Neal’s Yard Remedies Wild Rose Beauty Elixir contains Rosehip Oil – one of nature’s richest sources of Vitamin C, to help repair skin and promote a healthier looking, smoother skin. Hyaluronic Acid has been included for its wondrous moisture retention properties and a combination of pure essential oils of Frankincense and Geranium and Turmeric for truly radiant skin. Benefits:

  • Intensely nourishing
  • Leaves skin radiant with a healthy-looking glow
  • Easily absorbed, silky-smooth texture

What do you do with it?

Use morning and evening after toning on damp skin, for radiantly glowing skin.

Apply half a pump of the elixir with fingertips, gently smoothing onto the skin with a light, upwards, circular motion, avoiding the delicate eye area.

What do I think of it?

This silky smooth serum has a gorgeous, very delicate rose scent and is designed to be used after cleansing and toning while the skin is still slightly damp – this helps to ‘lock in’ moisture, leaving skin beautifully plumped and hydrated. My skin looks vibrant, bright and satin smooth with less dark tones since using this magical serum; it now has a lovely healthy looking glow and is not so tired or congested looking. I am in love. My other half steals it, it’s that good!

Is it worth the money?

I think a bottle of this really will go a long way, providing my darling bf keeps his mitts off… Yes, I would definitely continue to repurchase this serum!

**You can pick both of these items up for only 365 AED at the moment!!!**

Love, Kel x
